The Control Interfaces  

ROV Panel and Hot Stab Assemblies

are high-fidelity test article mockups for use in the training and testing of ROV operations such as Blow-Out Preventer (BOP) tests or actuation. 

Customer supplied systems such as heavy-duty work-class ROVs and subsea infrastructure hardware or mockups can also be qualified for use in the NBL. Maximum single lift capacity: 20 Tons (U.S.)

Alternatively, system hardware mockups can be engineered and fabricated by Rothe Development, Inc. to customer specifications that fully comply with NASA NBL requirements ensuring rapid integration. Mockup fabrication can be completed by Rothe Development, Inc. at the adjoining NASA Logistics and Manufacturing Facility (LMF) saving transport costs and keeping production hardware in the field.


Conforming to the NASA EVA, Robotics, and Crew Systems Operations Division training requirement standard DX12-SLP-014, these API 17D and API 17H tools serve as Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory training and integration testing hardware for training, testing, and ROV task automation.

NBL SIT ROV Panel Assembly with hot-stab ports, pressure gauges, and 1/4 turn paddle valves simulating the hydraulic controls used in subsea intervention operations such as the actuation of various Blow-Out Preventer shear rams.
